Well, I’m done with this set. Colacitti’s next 10 should be coming in just a few days. Then I can do some more.

Chapter 2, Page 5 Inks
Posted in Art on March 23, 2009 by NickI took this picture at night next to my desk lamp. I think it ended up looking kinda cool. The last panel is very cartoony/realistic.
Ch. 2, Page 4 Inks
Posted in Art on March 22, 2009 by NickEvery time I see heavy black on white, I’m always amazed at how good it looks.
Chapter 2, Page 3 Inks
Posted in Art on March 20, 2009 by NickI’m in a hurry. I’m a bit behind since I had to letter and print preview copies for the SPACE con next month.
So. Here.
Ch. 3, Page 3 Pencils
Posted in Art on March 18, 2009 by NickI like how the last three panels merge to make a modified cover of the last novel.
Colacitti’s a good guy.
Ch. 2, Page 2 Inked
Posted in Art on March 16, 2009 by NickThis manga inking is fun. I gotta make a real superhero-type comics just so I can ink like this.
Ch. 2, Page 1 Inks
Posted in Art on March 14, 2009 by NickI like inking like Tiny Life is a manga comic. It’s kind of fun and super-easy.
All you have to do is ink everything the same width, and then the closer things are to the reader, the thicker you should retrace them.
It really doesn’t take that long and I can see this taking place on an “assembly line.”
Ch. 3, Page 2
Posted in Art on March 12, 2009 by NickIt’s supposed to be night time. But this looks like day.
I might have to fix it. Or have him fix it.
Ch. 3, Page 1
Posted in Art on March 10, 2009 by NickI think I’m going to start numbering them like this. That way, I don’t have to remember what the last page was.
Wacom, Part 2
Posted in Art on March 9, 2009 by Nick
I gave it up. I couldn’t get the damn thing to work right. I tried changing the colors slightly, I tried changing the pressure sensitivity and the angle and the jitter and the scale. I tried making my own custom brushes and I downloaded some and I watched a few videos. I tried basically everything I could to make it look like pen-and-ink.
The best two I could come up with was make everything look like a felt marker or making everything look airbrushed.
Either way, I don’t think a Wacom is for me.
Unless I can get the really cool touch-screen one. I’d get that one just for the sake of being bad-ass.
