Jeez. Calm down there, cowboy.

This is what the movie was about. Rational scientists who have a rational interest in actually proving whether or not there is a Creator (as opposed to saying, “There’s no proof either way, so ‘yes’ cuz the church says so” or “There’s no proof either way, so ‘no’ cuz science says so”) are flogged by people who have closed their minds to the possibility of something We Don’t Get.

I do like, though, how you used not one, but two of the Angry Poster Strategies: 1) You changed my wording into something you can insult. 2) You simply called me dumb.

"Personally, I believe in a Creator. I believe in a Design."

Translation: Personally, I believe in a MAGIC FAIRY. I believe in MAGIC.

Stein knows nothing about science and obviously neither do you.

Maybe it's because the country is so big that we can go our whole lives and not really think about other places.
Maybe it's because the US is fairly isolated from other countries.
Or maybe it's because we're just dumb (for instance, I had to look up "insular").

The "pound of flesh" thing might be from the Merchant of Venice.
As a side-note, I heard there were dozens of sites dedicated to figuring out the plot to Seven Pounds. Speculations ranged from aliens to "things Will Smith would by with seven English dollars."

First of all What does the SEVEN POUNDS mean? Does anybody REALLY know or are they just speculating like the peanut gallery? It's called the peanut gallery for a reason; it's where the nuts are! enough, already! The pound of flesh for a life theory sounds reasonable and sound. What say you? And please... all nuts, please stay in you shells.
